OSCR is proud to be celebrating 50 Years of Service. We are an award-winning not-for-profit and charitable organization. We strive to achieve the highest quality of care for our clients and have made a specific commitment to put the needs of our clients at the center of everything that we do. For over 50 years, OSCR has provided services to seniors, and our residents have enjoyed living in a safe, supportive, and beautiful community ever since we first opened our doors.
On June 22nd, we held an event to honour OSCR’s 50 Years of Service. Staff, residents, and guests gathered on the back patio to celebrate this milestone. It was a lovely afternoon with refreshments and live entertainment by the band Evensong. A collection of OSCR photographs from our archive were on display, spanning the last five decades, which took us on a walk down memory lane. We reminisced about past residents, staff, visitors, events, and building décor throughout the years.
Oakville Ward 1 Town and Regional Councillor/Acting Mayor, Sean O’Meara, gave a wonderful speech about the positive impact OSCR has had on the community over the past 50 years. Former Oakville Mayor, Ann Mulvale, reflected on the wonderful supports and services OSCR has provided to seniors. Our 25-year time capsule, which was placed in the wall at a similar event in 1998, was unveiled by our CEO Angela Katunas and Ann Mulvale. Everyone enjoyed looking at the contents, which included a ticket stub from the movie ‘Titanic’, an OSCR brochure, a 25-year-old edition of the Oakville Beaver, and a card from staff members wishing us a Happy 50th Anniversary.
Here’s to the next 50 Years of Serving the OSCR community!
