Enteric Outbreak Declared Over
Public Health Ontario has declared the outbreak at OSCR to be over effective April 4, 2025
The following will resume:
- Healthy Living Programs (HLP) congregate programming
- Use of lounges and congregating areas
Visiting to all floors may resume with no additional precautions (i.e., gown, eye protection, gloves).
Infection control precautions remain in place:
- Clean hands frequently.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Remember respiratory etiquette - coughing and sneezing into a tissue or your sleeve followed by cleaning hands.
- Do not visit if you are feeling unwell.
We remain proactive with regularly monitoring illness activity within OSCR as your continued safety is our priority. If further measures are required, we will provide updates accordingly.
This is a gentle reminder that OSCR is urging everyone to continue to be vigilant as respiratory and enteric (vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea/ fever) illnesses continue to be prevalent within the community:
- Self-monitor for symptoms and stay home when ill.
- Report any respiratory and/ or enteric symptoms to Client Services.
- Do no visit unwell clients.
- Masks are strongly recommended when unwell clients must leave the building for essential reasons, such as doctor's appointments, pharmacy, groceries, exercise, etc.
- Clean hands often.
Visitors:
- Do not visit if you are feeling unwell or have any of the following: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, and nasal congestion.
- When visiting an unwell client, report to Client Services upon your arrival for further instructions.
- Please clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub when you arrive and before leaving.
