COVID-19 Vaccine Update

COVID-19 OUTBREAK: 5th , 8th and 9th Floors 2222 Lakeshore Road West (Residential Tower)
We are pleased to announce that Halton Region Public Health has just informed OSCR that we are scheduled to receive a COVID-19 mobile vaccination clinic on Thursday March 3, 2022.
Halton Region Public Health is working in collaboration with OSCR to prepare for the mobile vaccination clinic, ensuring a timely and safe vaccination processes.
Who is the clinic for?
Vaccinations will be available to the following:
- Eligible residents requiring a fourth dose. Residents are eligible for a fourth dose at a minimum of 3 months (84 days) after their third dose.
- Eligible residents requiring a third dose. Residents are eligible for a third dose at a minimum of 3 months (84 days) after their second dose.
- Eligible residents requiring a first or second dose.
Note: Moderna will be the only vaccine available at the mobile clinic. Attached are information sheets from Halton Region Public Health regarding fourth dose/ booster of COVID-19 vaccine and vaccine interchangeability. Please ensure to read for your awareness.
What to expect:
- The Mobile Vaccination Clinic will administer COVID-19 vaccines in a safe and effective manner.
- OSCR Team will be revisiting clients interested in receiving the vaccine for full completion of Halton Region Public Health’s COVID-19 Vaccine Consent Form starting the week of Monday February 14th, 2022.
- Clients will also be asked questions about their health on the day of the clinic. February 11, 2022
- The Mobile Vaccination Clinic will provide the vaccine by first cleaning a patch of skin on the upper arm, and then performing a quick intramuscular (IM) injection of the mRNA vaccine using a new, pre-drawn syringe.
- Clients will be monitored for any adverse reactions immediately following the vaccine. It is normal to experience some swelling, bruising, soreness, or redness at the site of the injection after receiving the vaccine. Some people may experience some mild body aches or fever the first day or two following the vaccine.
- If any more serious symptoms develop, clients should report these to OSCR staff and/ or seek immediate medical attention.
- The Mobile Vaccination Clinic will follow all infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols to keep clients safe and to protect those administering the vaccines. This will include the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) by the mobile clinic team members.
